Obituary



Helen Virginia Tisdale passed away October 8, 2018. She was the widow of Paul Tisdale who passed away June 6, 2000, after 52 years of marriage. Helen was born March 23, 1926 in Huntington, WV. She was a a daughter of Cecil A. and Ruby M. (Noel) Leadmon. Helen graduated from Huntington East High in 1944 and went to work for Mr. F.A. Nasser at Nasser's Art Linen Shop before moving to Baltimore, MD in 1952. She then worked for and retired from Montgomery Ward and Co. She moved back to Huntington, WV with her husband in 1991. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Zelma M. Clary of Chesapeake, OH (2013) and Carolyn J. Leadmon of Huntington, WV (2016). Helen is survived by a very special family: two sons, David A. Tisdale (Diana Tisdale) of Greenback, TN and Michael D. Tisdale (Kricket Genson) of Frederick, MD; a niece, Deborah L. Clary of Chesapeake, OH; a nephew, Greg Tisdale (Rhonda Tisdale) of Ypsilanti, MI; three grandchildren, Michelle (Rob) Mitchell of Baltimore, MD, Kathryn Tisdale (Luke Goodhue) of Lakeview, CO, and Alec C. Tisdale of Somerville, MA; four great grandchildren, Ashley and Robbie Mitchell and Oliver and Felix Goodhue; a very special friend Marilyn Noel of Kodak, TN; a step granddaughter, Wendy Easton of Frederick, MD and a host of cousins and good friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Apostolic Life Cathedral, Huntington, with Bishop Edwin S. Harper officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday at the church. I
