Obituary



Donald Wayne Dingess, Sr., 72, of Huntington, WV, died Monday February 8, 2016 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday February 11, 2016 at the First Wesleyan Church (3135 Washington Blvd.), with Pastor Cliff Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donald was born November 17, 1943 in Logan, County, WV, a son of the late Henderson and Mabel Stollings Dingess. He was retired from Special Metals and a member of the First Wesleyan Church. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Janet Lynn McCoy. Survivors include his wife Geraldine Dingess, two daughters, Christine Jackson of Huntington and Cindy Kayler of Gastonia, NC, one son, Donald Wayne Dingess, Jr. of Huntington, two sisters, Billie Jean Hamlin of Georgia, and Linda Welch of Florida, two brothers, Frederick and David Dingess both of Chapmanville, WV, four grandchildren, Jimmy McCoy, Brandon Dingess, Anderson and Allison Kayler and one great grandson, Peyton Reid Dingess. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may visit with the family at the church after 11:30 AM until service time Thursday.
