Obituary



Gregory "Scott" Roe, son of Iris Bias Roe and the late Calvin Ted Roe, died unexpectedly at his Huntington, WV, home on February 18, 2016. He was born May 19, 1958, in Huntington. Scott was also preceded in death by his wife, Terry Chadwick Roe, and sister-in-law, Melinda Conrad Roe. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jonathon David (Christina Faith Ball) Roe and their daughter Abigail Faith; step-daughter, Angela Aaron Crisel (Joey) Trader, their daughter Hallie Morgan and son Jonas Luc; brother Roger Roe, sister Diana Lynn and her husband Robert Michael Bowen; nephew Michael Bowen (Allison Broome), niece Sabrina Bowen Salmons, grandnephews Benjamen Bowen and Jayson Salmons, grandniece Evelyn Salmons and special friend, Teresa Barbour Adkins. Scott was a 1976 graduate of Barboursville High School and became interested in electronics and radios at an early age. He had developed an interest in plants and gardening in more recent years, a vocation he shared with his dad and was also learning to cook. He was a ham radio operator and was active in the Tri-State Amateur Radio Association (license #N8ZMO, Yardape), participating in HamFests and Field Days as well as community emergency events. He was employed as a technician by Braskem Chemicals in Kenova, WV, where he was also a member of the Braskem Emergency Response Team. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, and will be followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm with Pastor Brian Cardwell officiating.
