Obituary



Andrew Jackson Oldaker, 86, of Glenwood, WV, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Larry Carey officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born July 18, 1929 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late Charles Edward and Hildred Carter Oldaker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rhoda Oldaker; his second wife, Amazetta Oldaker; his daughter, Patty Edmonds; two step daughters, Nettie and Jackie; two step sons, Ivan and Larry; a sister, Bertha Vickers; two brothers, Ira and Corbett Oldaker; and a great grandson, Cody Gray. He was retired from Perry Norvell Shoe Factory with over 25 years of service and S.S. Logan Packing Company. He was a member of Community Holiness Church. Survivors include: his daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Dorman Gray of Glenwood; a step daughter, Anna Beaver of Lesage; two sisters, Juanita Holbrook and Rosa Nicholas; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Roberta Oldaker; four grandchildren, Amy (Ed) Faust, James (Tina) Gray, Melanie Edmonds, and Jacob (Jess) Edmonds; nine great grandchildren, Tera, Danielle, Victoria, Cassidy, Austin, McKenna, Sydney, Hayden, and Jackson; one great great grandson, Cody; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Doris Dolin. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary.
