Mary Frances Kester Curtis
(October 22, 1930 - December 19, 2010)



Mary Frances Kester Curtis, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. She was born October 22, 1930 in Mercer County, WV a daughter of the late Ed and Belva Dillon Kester. Mary was a graduate of Matoaka High School; attended St. Luke's School of Nursing, Bluefield, WV and St. Mary's School of Nursing, Huntington. She was employed for many years by the C & O Hospital; the Cabell Huntington Health Department; and retired from the Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital. She was active in the Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts of American and a long time member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; two sisters; a brother; and a nephew. She is survived by a son, James, his wife Pam, and two granddaughters, Leslie and Claire; a daughter Lynn and two grandsons, Eric and Ryan; a daughter Kelly Curtis and grandson Lee Chirpas; one niece; and four nephews. A Celebration of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Highlawn Presbyterian Church, Huntington, with Richard B. Wilson, D.Min. officiating. Private burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Highlawn Presbyterian Church, 2814 Collis Ave., Huntington, WV 25702.
