Mary Kathryn "Mickey" Palmer
(May 25, 1936 - December 19, 2010)



Mary Kathryn "Mickey" Palmer, 74, of Huntington, WV, formerly of New Castle, PA., died Sunday December 19, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center. A Memorial Mass will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday December 23, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor Lawrence Luciana officiating. Mickey was born May 25, 1936 in New Castle, PA a daughter of the late Arthur J. & Elizabeth Logan McGuirk. She was in charge of the CCD at St. Peter Clavier Church for 15 years, and also the CCD at St Mary's Church in New Castle. She touched many lives through Girl Scouts & church organizations. She was preceded in death by a step-brother, Harold McGuirk of New Castle. Survivors include her husband William F. Palmer, 2 daughters, Elizabeth Totten & husband Keith of Canastota, NY., Barbara Phillips & husband Marcus of Barboursville, 2 sons, Bill Palmer & wife Lisa of Kenova, & Robert Palmer of Huntington, one sister Jean Talley of Youngstown, OH., one brother, Arthur McGuirk of New Castle, 9 grandchildren, Arthur, Katie & Jake Totten of Canastota, Daniel, Maria, Alex & Kyle Phillips of Barboursville, Marci, & Christian Palmer of Kenova. Donations may be made to the Nazareth House in her name. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
