Ella Mae Chapman LeGrand
(March 15, 1933 - December 5, 2010)



Mrs. Ella Mae Chapman Le Grand, 77, of Huntington, WV, widow of Johnny Chapman and Ira "Bud" Le Grand, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 8, 2010,at Crossroads Baptist Church, with Dr. Jack K. Mayes officiating Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born, March 15, 1933, in Huntington, a daughter of the late George Dewey Cremeans and Frances Burgess Cremeans. She was a retired Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death were two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Leo Kenneth (Reda) Cremeans and James Matthew (Becky) Cremeans. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie and Earl Childers, of Ceredo-Kenova, and Marsha Wagers of Huntington; a son Johnny Chapman, of Huntington; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Jeffery Childers; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kyler, Chad, and Lauren Childers; a brother and sister-in-law, George D. and Pat "Charley" Cremeans, of Oak Ridge, TN; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday, December 7, 2010, and after 1:00 PM Wednesday at the church.  "I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one; I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down upon the days of happy times and laughing times of bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when life is done."
