William Basil Ross

William Basil Ross, 81, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010, in the Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, December 27, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jerry Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. He was born November 27, 1929 in East Lynn, WV a son of Rev. Harvey and Della Belcher Ross. Four sisters, Violetta, Magdeline, Letha, and June, preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War; worked for Structures; and attended Open Door Baptist Church of Huntington. Survivors include; his wife, Lenora Adkins Ross; one son, William Joseph Ross of Huntington; one grandson, William Christopher Ross of Proctorville, OH; one granddaughter, Joni Leigh Ross of Kenova, WV; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Asbury of Lavalette, WV, and Carma Pinson and Bernice Mitchell, both of Huntington; and a special sister-in-law, Rena Fay Jones of South Point, OH.
