Spencer E. Hill, Jr.
(July 28, 1919 - December 30, 2010)



SPENCER E. HILL JR., 91, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday June 21, 2011 at White Chapel Mausoleum, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville WV with Rev. Ed Hood officiating. Burial will follow. Born on July 28, 1919, in Madison, W.Va., he was the son of the late Spencer E. and Nora Webb Hill Sr. He was a member of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church in Huntington, W.Va., and upon moving to North Myrtle Beach, S.C., he became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army as a Master Sgt., 99th Signal Battalion. He was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America and Huntington BPO Elks Lodge 313. Mr. Hill is survived by his son, Steven Hill and his wife Susan of North Myrtle Beach; and three grandchildren, Steven, Stuart and Samuel Hill; and special friend and companion, Frances Roberts of North Myrtle Beach. He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Naomi Bash Hill; two brothers, Bill and Joe; and four sisters, Louise, Joy, Nancy and Donna Jean. The family would like to thank Dick Blackburn for being such a good friend to Spencer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Friends may call at the cemetery after 10:30 AM Tuesday. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
