Wanda Marie Midkiff Smith

Wanda Marie Midkiff Smith, 86, of Huntington, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 pm Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Dana Turley officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. She was born November 2, 1924, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Rupert Midkiff and Carrie Burrows Midkiff. Three brothers, John Wesley "Buzzie" Midkiff, Billy Midkiff and Donald Midkiff also preceded her in death. She retired from the Cabell County Board of Education as a payroll clerk with 30 years of service, and was a member of the former Walnut Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Lee and Lillian Smith of Lancaster, CA; and Ronald A. "Pete" and Barbara Smith of Huntington; five grandchildren, Amy and Dan Johnson, Peter Smith, Andrea and Jerry Ray, Stacy and Jeff Gipson and Sarah and Jeff Worsham; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Savanah, Trevor, Tyler, Jake and Jack; A daughter-in-law, Sherry Smith and a special friend and cousin, Louise Morrison.
