Charles L. Bandy
(May 16, 1921 - November 22, 2010)



Charles L. Bandy, 89, of Proctorville, Ohio, widower of Virginia Pauline Ramey Bandy, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Ray Vance officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Barboursville. He was born May 16, 1921, in Kanawha City, WV, a son of the late L.K. and Samantha Lee Stamper Bandy. In addition to his wife, three sisters, Mary Vickers, Elizabeth Wellman, and Marjorie Boggs; and two brothers, Bill Bandy, Jr., and Donald E. Bandy preceded him in death. He was Baptist by faith, and a Purple Heart recipient, serving in the US Army during WWII. He retired from the cutting and finishing department at INCO. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Ramey Parsons and Darrell Parsons of Carrollton, GA; a son, Douglas Ramey of Wytheville, VA; four grandchildren, Tiffany Parsons, Joshua Parsons, David Ramey and Derek Ramey; three great-grandchildren, Noah Parsons, Garrett Parsons and Siera Cheyenne Ramey. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00pm Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary.
