Hershel Southers, 62, of Huntington, WV, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, November 19, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Frank Hay officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Hershel was born November 11, 1948 in Williamson, WV a son of the late Okey V. & Virdie Gillman Southers. He was an E.M.T. in the West Virginia coal mines & a U.S. Army veteran serving in Viet Nam. He was member of the D.A.V. & VFW Post 1064, whose members will conduct military graveside rites. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Southers and one sister, Rozenna Harshbarger. Survivors include; one daughter, Stephanie Southers of Charleston, WV; and one son, Chris Southers of Huntington; two grandchildren, Ma'Kayla Miller and Arionna Crowder, both of Charleston; and one sister, Stella Bartoe of Trace Creek, WV. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, November 18, 2010.
