Gertrude Lorraine Mills Chafin, 92, of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday November 17, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 12:30 P M Saturday November 20, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Dr. Allen Reasons officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Gertrude was born March 10, 1918 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Lee Roy & Ruth B. Coffman Powers. She was retired from the former 20Th Street Bank in the new accounts department. She was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Byron Logan Mills & her 2nd husband Robert Chafin and one brother Roy Richard Powers. Survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Terry Blevins of Huntington, a sister & brother-in-law, Joan & Harold Sawyers of Florida, a brother & sister-in-law John & Alice Powers of McCormick, SC, a granddaughter, Jennifer Blatt & husband Michael of Huntington, two great-grandchildren, William Ayden & Grace Anne Blatt and special friends at the auxiliary of Cabell Huntington Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Friends may call after 11:30 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
