Clarence Hobert "Doc" Kirk
(March 27, 1929 - November 6, 2010)


Clarence Hobert "Doc" Kirk, 81, of Huntington, WV, husband of Betty Kirk, passed away Saturday November 6, 2010, at the VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Tuesday November 9, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Truman Maynard, officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park with V.F.W. Post 1064 conducting military graveside rites. He was born March 27, 1929, in Chattaroy, WV, a son of Lyle G. and Iva Haire Kirk. Others preceding him in death were his first wife, Ruby Maynard Kirk; stepson, Billy Joe Gannon; two sisters, Virginia Thompson, and Joy Dean; and three brothers, Elmer "Bud" Kirk, George Kirk, and Jack Kirk. Hobert had worked for Star Furniture for over 28 years, and later was a security guard. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having been a paratrooper in the Korean War, a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 1064, Huntington, and a member of Teamsters Local 505. In addition to his wife, survivors include his brother, Joe Kirk of Williamson; sister-in-law, Rosie Espinosa of Corpus Christi, TX; brother-in-law, Roy Washington of Huntington; two grandchildren, Barbie Jo Gannon and Billy Ray Gannon, both of Hopkinsville, KY; his beloved pets, Blue, Maribelle, and Anne; and a host of other family and friends.
