Mary Violet Adair
(February 20, 1923 - October 5, 2011)


Mary Violet Adair, 88, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Monday, October 10, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Steve Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Mary was born February 20, 1923 in Lesage, WV a daughter of the late John P. Hesson, Sr. and Ruth Mobley Hesson. Her husband, Fred Adair; three sisters, Ethel Sites, Ruby Riley, and Charlotte Yoder; and four brothers, Otto, Ray, Gurley, and Ezra Hesson, also preceded her in death. She was a retired receptionist for Riley Clinic and Hospital and was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include: a step son, Harold Adair of Charleston, WV; a step daughter, Delores Adair Mousel of Florida; two brothers, Henry H. Hesson and John P. Hesson, Jr., both of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary.
