    Mrs. Marian 
    L. Bowen, 83, of Huntington, passed away, Tuesday, October, 18, 
    2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 
    11:00 am, Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, with the 
    Reverend Cinda Harkless Officiating. Ernie Ritchie will provide vocal music. 
    Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born August 14, 1928, at 
    Portsmouth, OH, a daughter of the late Albert Franklin Denning and Sara Neff 
    Denning. She had many interests, including, being an Avon representative, 
    her church, Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. She 
    served as the church Historian, past president of the Presbyterian Women, an 
    honorary member of the Presbyterian Women, Historian for the Church Women 
    United, the Paw-Taw Square Dancing Club, singing, and accomplished 
    seamstress, had a “Card" ministry, an avid Cincinnati Reds fan Marshall 
    University Football and Basketball fan, and square dancing. She was preceded 
    in death by her husband of 64 years, Marco Lenval “Blackie” Bowen, and a 
    brother, Harold Denning. Surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law; Kathy 
    Christian and Keith DeWitt, Alice and Jerry Browning, both of Huntington, a 
    son and daughter-in-law; Edwin and Jan Bowen, of Versailles, KY; 
    grandchildren, Bobby Joe and Cathlene Christian, Eric Wayne Christian, Amy 
    Browning, Ginny and Bradley Morgan, Tiffany Bowen, and Jacob Bowen; great 
    grandchildren, Trevor Christian, Avery Morgan, Blake Christian, and awaiting 
    the birth of ”Baby" Morgan; sisters, Bettey Whovery of Arcadia, FL, and 
    Geneva Sperry, of Ceredo, WV and a brother Jerry Denning, of Huntington. 
    Pallbearers will be, Jacob Bowen, Keith DeWitt, Bobby Joe Christian, II, 
    Edwin Bowen, Jerry Broening and Eric Wayne Christian. The family would like 
    to thank the following; Dr’s C. Dwayne Tackett, A. Elkadry, F. Alkhanhan, T. 
    Rehman, as well as the 3rd floor Pulmonary unit and the CVICU at St. Mary’s 
    Medical Center for their love and kindness. The family especially would like 
    to thank Dr. Alkhankan for his guidance during this difficult time. 
    Donations are asked to be sent to the Jeffrey George Comfort House, the West 
    Virginia Lung Association, or to the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.
