Myrtle McComas Ross
(July 24, 1924 - October 5, 2011)


Myrtle McComas Ross, 87, of Barboursville, WV, widow of Delbert Ross, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Myrtle was born July 24, 1924 in West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Aaron Addison and Elizabeth “Lessie” Booth McComas. She also had nine brothers and sisters precede her in death. She was co-owner of Wiggins 5th. Avenue. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Ross Strother of Flatwoods, KY; three grandchildren, Kelli Renee Turley, Kimberly Strother, and Kristin Adkins and her husband, Marvin Adkins; a great granddaughter, Jennifer Cordal; three great great grandchildren, Ethan David Cordal, Savannah Rose Cordal, and Jonah Matthew Cordal; and a sister, Maybelle McNeely of Sapulpa, OK, who is also known as “Aunt Grannie” to Myrtle’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Hewlett Trogdon officiating. Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 PM Monday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
