Obituary



Ida Belle Bailey, 86, of Huntington, WV, went to be with her Heavenly Father and loved ones, Sunday November 29, 2015 with her family by her side. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Andy Magnusson officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Ida was born January 16, 1929 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Daniel and Josephine Jobe Smith. She was retired from the former Huntington State Hospital, a member of the Baptist Temple, and volunteered at the Huntington City Mission for more than 10 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bailey, her son, William "Bill" Bailey, Jr, three sisters, Ruby Carter, Helen Whisman and Thelma Bailey, one brother, Leonard Smith and a son-in-law Ralph Lewis. Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Jane Tomblin (Rocky) of Norcross, GA, Jeannie Lewis of Glenwood, WV and Betty Joe Bias (Garry) of Huntington, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great greatgrandchildren and a special niece she thought of as a daughter, Sharon Horn. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Baptist Temple's Elevator Fund. Friends may visit with the family after 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
