Obituary

John David Watson took the next step on his journey and left this world Tuesday, November 24, 2015. John was born on Feb. 17, 1986, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Donna Donovan (Huntington, WV) and Bobby Dewight Watson, Jr. (San Angelo, TX)  John leaves behind his sister, Faith Marie Follin (Huntington, WV), his sister, Victoria Raline Blythe (San Angelo, TX) his maternal grandparents, Kate Lawrence and Gerry Collins (Annandale, VA), his paternal grandmother, Doris Watson (San Angelo, TX), and his girlfriend, Katelyn Stacy (Pomeroy, OH) and her daughter Kinley who he loved as his own, as well as a multitude of family and friends. John was preceded in his passing by his grandfather Robert H. Smith, his great-grandmother, Virginia Lawrence, his great-uncles Ronnie, Denny, and Buster Lawrence, his great-aunt Donna Davis, along with his two dear friends, Javan Daley and Blair Updike.  John was an old soul from birth, who never failed to share his beautiful smile and unconditional love with all those he came in contact with. John fought a long, hard battle for many years with the demons in his own head and the demon of addiction outside. Yet even through all the struggles, he maintained his unending love for his fellow man and worked at helping others to battle their addictions. John loved what he did for a living, being in construction since his early teens, he loved being at Wisteria and spending his nights at Paw Paw with the drums, he loved baseball, he was the most loyal of friends, many times the life of the party, and more often the shoulder to lean on when needed. He loved his baby sister, Faith, with a devotion beyond all else. And in these last 9 months he found love and happiness as he had never known. I am beyond grateful to all those who have shared their stories of him with me this week.  Funeral service will be conducted 4:00 pm Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Chapman's Mortuary with his mother, Donna Donovan officiating. Friends may visit with family after 2:00 pm until service time on Tuesday at Chapman's Mortuary. An Irish wake will be held after his service at a local residence.
