Alberta P. Brown, 93, of Mt. Vernon Ohio died peacefully on Sunday November 15, 2015 at the Country Club Retirement Center. She is predeceased by her parents Laura and Alvin Spurlock, loving husband Warren Brown, son Vaughn Brown and brother Gene Spurlock. Alberta received her teaching degree from Marshall University and taught for 30 yrs. She was a member of the Methodist Church as well as The Eastern Star. Alberta loved her family, her country, her flowers and beach combing in Fla. She is survived by her children Larry Brown of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Carolyn Shaw of San Diego, Ca, sister Yvonne Ferguson of Ona, W. Va. As well as 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren all in Ohio. This sweet lady will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday November 18, 2015 at Forest Memorial Park's Mausoleum, Milton, WV, with Pastor William DeMoss officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may visit with the family after 12:30 PM on Wednesday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
