George Thompson, 83, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 after a long illness.  Born in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late Tom and Nolda Thompson. He was predeceased by his brothers, Tommy and Earl "Diz" Thompson. He is survived by his wife Patty; his son Jeff; grandson Jason; great grandson Grayson and sisters Loretta and Mary.  George was two-time all-state in football for Huntington East High School and after serving in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict he returned home to graduate from Marshall University. After several years working for Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical, he returned home and remained there as a successful insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance until coming to Myrtle Beach, SC in 1986 where he remained a resident until his passing.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. There will also be a memorial service 10:00 am Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, WV, with Rev. Jerry Chapman officiating.
