Obituary



Virginia Stanley Chapman, 92, originally of Huntington, WV, received her final reward when the gates of Heaven opened for her on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Broadmore Assisted Living in Hurricane. She was born April 12, 1923 in Milton, WV a daughter of Richard F. and Mamie Edmunds Stanley. She worked for many years at Grant's, Young's Restaurant, and retired from the old Huntington State Hospital as a cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Edgar Chapman; one son, Raymond Franklin Chapman, and her brother, Richard Stanley. Survivors include: one son, Edgar (Brenda) Chapman and one daughter, Delores (Hugh) James; six grandchildren, Bridget (Clay) Davis, Mark (Beth) James, Tracy Jimison, Mitze James, Michael (Jennifer) Chapman and Eric (Mary) Chapman; ten great grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Parsons, Mollie Ashworth, Taylor Jimison, Lindsey James, Matthew Jimison, Katelyn Davis, Megan James, and Olivia, Grant and Madeline Chapman; and one great great grandson, Sage Parsons. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Jeffrey Kanode and Rev. Dale Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 17, 2015, and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at Chapman's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 118 Bethesda Drive, Ona, WV 25545. The family would like to thank the staff at Broadmore for Mom's excellent care.
