Obituary

James William Linkfield
(September 22, 1916 - December 21, 2014)



James William Linkfield 98, of Huntington, widower of Ella Jean Linkfield, passed away Sunday December 21, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born September 22, 1916, in Cabell County, a son of the late Orville Frederick and Lora Bell Teel Linkfield. In addition to his wife, a sister, Christine Linkfield Adams, 2 brothers, Ivan Eugene Linkfield and Orville Frederick Linkfield, Jr., and a son-in-law J.D. Johnson also preceded him in death. He was the retired owner/operator of Commercial Printing, and was a charter member of the former Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include; one daughter Carolyn Linkfield Johnson; two grandsons, Mike Johnson and Ricky Johnson all of Huntington; 6 great grandchildren, Krista, Joshua, Amber, Jamie, Scott and Ryan Johnson; three great-great grandchildren, Trenton “T.C.”, Ayden “A.J.”, and Aviary; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and other family. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
