Thomas Otis Bias
(April 7, 1916 - May 10, 2013)



Thomas Otis Bias, 97, of Huntington, WV, died Friday May 10, 2013 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday May 13, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Donald Walker officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Thomas was born April 7, 1916 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Clifton & Ida Mae Cornell Bias. He was a retired Supervisor from Union Carbide, a WWII Veteran, a member of VFW Post 9738, American Legion Post 16 and the New Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha Ellen Van Matre Bias, one brother, Irvin Bias and one sister, Willie Chaffin. Survivors include one daughter Sandra Bias Linn, one sister-in-law, Dortha Hensley, three nephews, James Hensley, Martin & John Van Matre, and Rebecca Wiley. The family would like to thank caregivers, Crystal, Sonya & Debbie and Hospice of Huntington for all their loving care. Donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 1:00 PM Monday until service time.
