David Matthew Wheeler
(September 18, 1957 - May 16, 2013)



David Matthew Wheeler, 55, of Huntington, WV, died Thursday May 16, 2013 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Matt was born September 18, 1957 in Huntington, WV, a son of Betty Lou Chain Wheeler of Huntington and the late Clarence H. Wheeler, Jr. He graduated from Huntington East High School and worked at Big Sandy Superstore Arena and Heritage Center Nursing Home. He was a local artist and a former member of Highlawn Baptist Church. Matt was a devoted son and brother and was loved by everyone that knew him. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Patrick Wheeler & wife Judy and thirteen nieces & nephews, and 4 great nieces and nephews; two aunts Mariam Mitchell and Wanda Tolley; six cousins, Ken Mitchell and Rodney Mitchell and wives, Greg (Rebecca) Tolley, Kevin (Marcia) Tolley, David (Marla) Tolley and Joe (Kristy) Tolley. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Mable and Gordon Chain and paternal grandparents Charlotte and Clarence Wheeler, Sr. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday May 19, 2013 at Woodmere Memorial Park’s Abbey of Remembrance with Rev. Hubert Harvey officiating. Burial will follow. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
