Freelon Dwain Wheeler passed on May 1, 2013 a the VA Medical Center after a long battle with cancer and is now in the hands of our Lord. He was a graduate of Huntington East ("64"), Graduate of Marshall University, Graduate of Lexington Community Collage, retired Major in the Army and worked both at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington KY and then Cabell Huntington Hospital as a Respiratory therapist. Son of deceased parents, Afton and Freelon Wheeler. Survived by wife of 46 years, Pam Wheeler, a brother, Gordon (Linda) Wheeler of Proctorville, Ohio. Father of Scott (Shawn) Wheeler of Milton, WV and Martin Wheeler of Huntington. Grandfather of Dru Wheeler of Morgantown, Hunter and Landen of Milton, Kennedy and Karsen of Hurricane. Dave Gladwell preacher at McClung Avenue Church of Christ in Barboursville will be speaking. We would like to thank the Edwards Cancer Center VA Medical Center, Hospice and Jan Care for all the care and assistance they provided. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00pm Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary. Friends may call 1 hour before services. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
