Asa E. Carson

Asa Eugene Carson-Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Asa (Sonny) Carson, 71, of Huntington, WV left us on Tuesday May 21st, 2013 to join his infant daughter, Elizabeth Anne Carson, his parents Asa and Evelyn Benedict Carson and sister Rosemary Carson Adams in Heaven. Sonny was a man of many talents and loved to share his memories of his beloved grandfather George Carson and the many wonderful blessings of growing up in the Carson Family in Lesage, WV. He served four years in the U.S. Army acquiring the rank of Sergeant while being stationed in many interesting places including Petaluma, California and Ankara, Turkey. He retired as an office machine technician. He is survived by his brother George (Linda) Carson, his sister Patsy Ray-McComas, his children Cynthia Carson, Christopher (Karen) Carson, Specialist Nick (Shelby) Carson and Private Brandon Carson, grandchildren Alex Kinsey, Beau and Sophia Carson, many nieces and nephews and his former wife, best friend and care giver Donna Carson-Gibson. Visitation will be conducted starting at 11 a.m. Friday at Ridgelawn Memorial Park’s Abbey of Devotion with the funeral service beginning at noon with Rev. Carl Ames officiating.
