Obituary



Roy James Farley, 88, of Proctorville, OH, died Tuesday September 27, 2016 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Friday September 30, 2016 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Roy was born December 31, 1927 in Pikeville, KY, a son of the late Robert L. and Jessie DeHart Farley. He was a retired Yard Conductor from CSX Railroad. He was also preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Farley and four sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lynn Jones of Huntington and Jenny Markin of Atlanta, GA, one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Rebecka Farley of Proctorville, one sister, Virginia Nichols of Huntington, two grandchildren, Scott Evans of Atlanta and TeAnne Jones of Lexington, KY, one great grandson, Ethan Jones also of Lexington, and his Special Companion, Carol Thompson of Ceredo, WV. Pallbearers will be Dan, Larry, Jim, Eddie and Paul Farley and Garrett Wilds. The family would like to thank the care givers, Kim Barbour, Brandi Smith and Michelle Ferris and also to Hospice of Huntington for all their loving care. American Legion Post 93 will conduct military graveside rites.
