Obituary


Albert Lucian Fulks 87, born in Huntington, WV, March 16, 1929, departed this life September 26, 2016. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:30 PM Friday September 30, 2016 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Burial will follow. He is the son of John Lucian and Anna Mary Baldwin Fulks. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Nina, Silvia, and Geneva, and one brother, Stowell. He is survived by Charlotte, his beloved wife of over 63 years---three sons, Steven, Robert (Punam), and David-three grandchildren, John, Sarah, and Spritika-five great grandchildren, Addison, Emma, Tinley, Katelyn, and Austin-one brother who is affectionately known as Uncle Bill. Al attended elementary schools at Federal Creek, Mount Vernon, Windsor Elementary, and Highland-all in Ohio. He attended Rome High School and graduated from Huntington East High School in 1946. During his senior year he was employed by Montgomery Ward as part of the Distributive Education plan. He later was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company until he enlisted in the Navy. He spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy, most of which was on the USS Beatty. After his honorable discharge from the Navy he was employed by Owens Illinois Glass Company as a machinist for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He and Charlotte moved to Conyers, GA., and have lived there since.
