Charlotte M. Walden Workman, 98, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in Heritage Center, Huntington. She was born May 24, 1918 in Mason County, WV a daughter of the late Laura Walden Showalter. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Bryant; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Margaret Meadows; and a grandson, David Alan Meadows. Charlotte was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Company and was a member of New Beginning Apostolic Church. Survivors include: a daughter, Linda Varnum of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Steve (Beth) Bryant of Charleston, SC, Roger (Ellie) Bryant of Lexington, KY, Jeff (Sue) Meadows of Ona, WV, Willard (Ann) Varnum of Raleigh, NC, Kristi Varnum of Charlotte, NC, and Sheila (Roger) Muth, Sharon (Chuck) Mann, and Drew (Kim) Varnum, all of Huntington; 22 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Robert (Garnet) Bryant; and two step sons, Ed (Jerrie) Workman and Frank (Gay) Workman. Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Abbey of Devotion. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Saturday at Ridgelawn Abbey of Devotion. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
