Obituary



Haney Louise Byrd, 83, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord Friday, September 1, 2017 at Madison Park. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, Sept 6, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with her cousins Pastor Donnie McCloud and Pastor Willie May officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. She was born October 16, 1933 in Huntington a daughter of the late Thadies Daniel and Ella McCloud Chaffin. She was also preceded in death by infant sisters, Phyllis Chaffin and Helen Chaffin; sisters, Anna Belle Perdue and Opal Marie (Bonnie) Hewer; and a brother, Jack Chaffin. She was a former beautician at Mamzelle Beauty Salon in Ceredo; attended Christ Temple; and was once a member of Sweet Adelines. Survivors include: her husband, James C. Byrd; two daughters, Brenda (Mike) Carter of Midlothian, VA and Pamela (Jay) Greaney of Huntington; a son, James Michael (Debbie) Byrd of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Rob (Jessica) Dodge and Lisa (Ken) Biggs, all of Midlothian, VA, and Chris (Katie) Byrd, Sam Byrd, Larry Byrd, Stephen Greaney, and Richard Allen Cremeans, all of Huntington; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at the funeral home.
