Obituary



Ned Allen McCray, 82, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, in Huntington. He was born September 25, 1934 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Harlan J. and Ruth Congrove McCray. Additional family that has preceded him in death were a son, Edwin Allen McCray; a grandson, Dakota Patrick McCray; and a brother, Thomas McCray. He was a US Air Force Veteran and formerly worked at Kaiser Aluminum in the Human Resources Department. He was a graduate of Glenville State College, and a member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church. Ned was also a Shriner in the Masonic Order in Parkersburg. Survivors include his wife, Sharolyn Gilmore McCray of Proctorville; two sons, Andrew David McCray of Ashville, NC, and Michael Stewart McCray and wife Danielle of Proctorville; a granddaughter, Sophia McCray of Proctorville; grandson, Brian McCray and wife Emily of Nashville, TN; his daughter-in-law, Barbara McCray of Dayton, OH; nieces, Jenny Walton of Huntington, Paula Siciliano of Chattanooga. TN, and Jayma Justice of Spartanburg, SC; nephew, Jerry Marks of Cincinnati, OH; and his brother-in-law, Jim Gilmore and wife Pam of Spartanburg, SC. Private family graveside service will be held at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, WV. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Highlawn Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Musgrave officiating.
