Obituary

Paul Duesenberry Clark Jr.
(February 20, 1942 - September 17, 2017)

Paul D. "Butch" Clark, 75, of Huntington, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born to the late Paul D. and Anita Wells Clark on February 20, 1942. Butch was preceded in death by his brother James and by the true love of his life Judy L. Browning Clark. Butch was born in Huntington, attended Guyandotte Elementary, Enslow Junior High, and Huntington East High where he was a superstar athlete and performer in football, basketball, track, and chorus. He went on to play basketball at Marshall from 1960-1964.  Butch was an extremely talented person who excelled in all areas of the arts and athletics. He played the lead role in many local plays produced by the Huntington Community Players. He sang in a local group and played the keyboard whenever he could. He was a gifted interior designer and a creative artist. He had a knack for creating beautiful interior designs and painting unique, thought provoking artwork. Butch loved the water and boating, especially sailing. He excelled at any sport he played. He could shoot "the lights out" in basketball; rip a forehand crosscourt winner in tennis; and drive a golf ball straight as an arrow. He never lost his competitive drive even as he battled Parkinson's in his last years. He had a wonderful ability to make everyone he met feel important.  Butch is survived by his sister Carolyn Clark Jarrell of Huntington; Three Children: Paul D. Clark, III (Belinda) of Huntington; David H. Clark (Rebecca) of Hebron, KY; Allison R. Clark Rohrer (Alex) of Lexington, KY. Seven grandchildren also survive him: Logan Clark, Maddie Clark, Maggie Clark, Jonathan Clark, Abby Clark, Lexi Rohrer, and Kara Rohrer.
Services will be held at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church in Huntington on Friday, September 22 beginning with a visitation at 12:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00pm.
