Pete Lawrence Gillespie, 61, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at his home. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Oaklawn Memorial Park, with burial to follow. He was born February 1, 1956, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Ivan and Melvina Grubbs Gillespie. His twin brother, Phillip Gillespie also preceded him in death. He was the owner/operator of Huntington Upholstery. Survivors include: one daughter, Jessica Gillespie Blevins; one son, Pete Gillespie, II, both of Huntington; two brothers, Patrick Gillespie of Ft. Worth, TX, and Edward Gillespie of Chesapeake, OH; one sister, Evangeline Gillespie also of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Reese and Tristen Gillespie, Alexander, Alexis and Jacob Basenback, Jonathan Fannin, and Declan Blevins. Friends may visit with the family after 1:30 Wednesday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
