Obituary



Rosa Lee Kennedy, 89, of Hurricane, WV, widow of Howard Woodson Kennedy, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, in Teays Valley Assisted Living. She retired as the office manager for Perry's Plumbing and Heating. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Ken Asbury officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. She was born April 16, 1928, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Russell and Janie Tripett McComas. Two sisters, Jerry Richards and Helen Johnson and two brothers, Jesse and Red McComas also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Paul Kuryla of Hurricane, WV; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Joyce Moore, and Gary and Peggy Kennedy all of Barboursville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to send a special Thank You to the all the staff of Teays Valley Assisted Living for their loving care of mom, and to Dr. Wilson for his extraordinary care during mom's illness. The family will receive friends from noon to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
