Obituary

Sunshine (Sunny) Renae Midkiff, 37, of Huntington, WV passed away September 7, 2017. She is the daughter of Marlene Patterson Midkiff and the late Stephen R. Midkiff. Sunshine is certainly a unique name, to those who knew her from birth, the name couldn't be more fitting. Sunny was born in Huntington, West Virginia, but raised in the Florida sun and later the sunny Carolina days. That, however, isn't why she was our Sunshine. She was our Sunshine because from birth her smile could light up a room. Those that loved her will miss that most of all. Sunshine is survived by her three boys Austin Midkiff, Riley Huffman and Kaleb Huffman; her brother, J.P. Midkiff (Brittany) and nieces Abby and Ally Midkiff; her Nana, Patricia Patterson; her Gigi, Jerri Black and Uncle, Bill Black; her two special cousins Jeremy Provaznik; Julie Black Hutchison (Hutch) and their children Gracie, Judah, Jilly, and Haddie; and special aunts, Karen "Kay" Morgan, and Helen "Heg" Garshaw. She was taken too soon from this life, she was fiercely loved and will be greatly missed. The funeral service will be conducted at River Cities Community Church, 5385 US Route 60 beginning at 12 pm Thursday Sept. 14, 2017 by Pastor Larry Greene. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 Wednesday September 13, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary.
