Sgt. First Class, Carl Bennett Gregory, 81, of Huntington, widower of Bonnie Ann Rogers Gregory, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born April 25, 1936 in Huntington a son of the late Cecil Boyce and Sarah Catherine Dick Gregory. Other family that have preceded him in death were two sisters, Ruby Arthur and Ella Faye Lusher; and three brothers, Rodney Easthom, Lawrence Easthom, and Hershel Easthom. Carl was a U.S. Air Force veteran and after returning he worked at Houdaille Industries until they closed then joined the U.S. Army Reserves with the 326-ordinance company, Spring Valley Dr., and retired from the U.S. Department of Army Civilian. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 and VFW Post 9738. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Jerry Adkins of Huntington; six grandchildren, Laura Ann Gregory of Lavalette, Joshua Bennette Gregory, Jacob Scott Gregory, Caitlynn Elizabeth Gregory, Holly Bails, and Morgan Adkins all of Huntington; two great granddaughters, Halene Gilbert and Ayla Raine Gilbert, both of Lavalette; a sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Paul Morris of Proctorville, OH,; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Kenny and Bonnie Easthom of Huntington, Russell and Florence Easthom of Huntington, Jim and Cindy Easthom of Lexington, KY, and Clifford "Pete" Easthom of Ravenswood, WV. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Dennis Morrello officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit after 1:00 pm Saturday at Chapman's Mortuary.
