Carmine Jerusha Hunter
(December 11, 1929 - June 22, 2014)



Carmine Jerusha Hunter, 84, of Huntington, widow of Robert J, “Jack” Hunter, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary with the Rev. Keith Leap officiating. Entombment will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born December 11, 1929, in Frametown, WV, a daughter of the late J.T. “Bub” and Mamie Sphinx Boggs. Others preceding her in death were a daughter, Carmine Christine Hunter; a son, David Hunter; and three sisters, Mary Faye James, Myrtle Rollison, and Katy Chapman & one brother, Claire Frame. She was a former teacher with Logan County Schools, and a member of the former Riverview United Methodist Church, now Harmony United Methodist. Survivors include seven grandchildren, Candice Armstrong Whitney, whom she raised, and husband, Bill Whitney of Huntington, Becky Baldwin and husband, Jeremy of Lake, WV., Carrie Ann Hunter of Lake, WV, Angela Hilling and husband, David of Huntington, Robert David Hunter and wife, Kristi of Lake, WV, Ryan Armstrong of Huntington, Dustin Armstrong of Huntington; many great grandchildren, including Billy Armstrong of Huntington, who stayed with her and helped care for her, her daughter-in-law Anita Hunter Toler and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
