Normal Jay McMullen
(December 1, 1926 - June 10, 2014)



Normal Jay McMullen, 87, of Proctorville, OH., died Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, OH. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday June 13, 2014 at Chapman�s Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Jerry Chapman & Dr. Tim Yates officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Jay was born December 1, 1926 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Milton Lemuel & Bessie Underwood McMullen. He was a police officer for the Huntington Police Department and later worked as an insurance adjuster. He was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, the Marine Corps Reserves, past President of the Huntington F.O.P., The Old Centurions, Shriner International, Past Master of Huntington Lodge #53 AF & AM, Huntington Commandray #9 Knights Templar, and a 32 Degree Scottish Rites of Free Masonary. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marcella Bailey McMullen and his second wife Betty McMullen, two sons, Dennis & Phil McMullen, five brothers & two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Terry Ferguson & husband Ron of Proctorville, OH, one son, Gary McMullen & wife Patti of Huntington, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Chapman�s Mortuary from noon until 2:00 PM Friday June 13, 2014.
