MRS. STEPHANIE ANN BARTON, 84 of Clinton, Iowa, formerly of Huntington, widow of Thomas J. Barton passed away April 29th, 2018. Services will be conducted at Chapman's Mortuary with visitation on Friday, May 4th from 5-7 pm. and funeral services on Saturday, May 5th at 12:00 pm. with Evangelist Jimmy Tingler officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Barton was born September 2nd, 1933, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Stephen and Jessie Carper Gosnay. She was a member of 6th Avenue Church of Christ in Huntington and Clinton Church of Christ in Clinton, IA. Mrs. Barton was retired from Hite Saunders Elementary School, where she served as secretary. In addition, Mrs. Barton was secretary at Miller Elementary, worked in retail, served as secretary for Sixth Avenue Church of Christ, and was a phone operator when she married Mr. Barton. Mrs. Barton was a dedicated mother and wife, creating a happy and loving home for her family. Her interests: were Family, Cooking, Knitting, Ceramics, Dance, Music, and Wintering in Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Mack Gosnay, and Clifford Eugene Gosnay. Mrs. Barton is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Ann and Tommy Hall of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Karen Sue and Stacy Sagar of Clinton, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Andrew "Tab" and Tara Lynn Barton of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; four grandchildren, Christopher Andrew Barton and Stephen Nicholas Barton of Frankfort, Ky., Rachel Nicole Sagar Adams of Clinton, Iowa and Brandt Ross Sagar of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven great grandchildren, Ty Roland Barton of Lexington, Kentucky.; Brendan Thomas Barton, Lennon Harper Barton, and Leila Avery Barton of Frankfort, Ky.; Brittany Marie Adams, Peyton Deanna Adams and Emerson Rae Adams of Clinton, Ia.; beloved sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Gosnay Boston and John Boston, brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Judy Gosnay, and sister-in-law Sue Gosnay.
