Obituary



Bernard Ray Scarberry, 87, of Huntington, husband of Carolyn Dennison Johnson Scarberry, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in the Village at Riverview, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Apostolic Life Cathedral, with Bishop Edwin S. Harper officiating. He was born August 31, 1930 in Barboursville, WV a son of the late Roy and Olive Messinger Scarberry. In addition to his parents, his first wife Betty Scarberry also preceded him in death. He was a US Navy veteran and retired from BASF Corporation as an engineer. Survivors in addition to his wife include; two daughters, Marsha Lynn Scarberry of NJ, and Debbie Alden of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nellie Scarberry of Chesapeake, OH; siblings, Dixie Bostic of Barboursville, Ileeta Fay Sbrana of NJ, Bill Scarberry and Gary Scarberry both of Barboursville, Tim Smith of NC, Ernie Scarberry, Donielle Scarberry of FL, Virginia Smith and April Parsons both of Huntington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Village of Riverview, and his many caregivers. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday at the church.
