Obituary



Atis "Ott" Parsons, 85, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born July 14, 1932 in Huntington a son of the late Ulysses Grant and Fair Lillie Jeffrey Parsons. He was also preceded in death by a son, Rick Lee Parsons; four brothers, his twin Otis Parsons, Lonnie Parsons, Lacy Parsons and Freeland Parsons; and two sisters, Jewell Sullivan and Lottie Lockhart. He was a truck driver for J and L Equipment and was a member since 1949 of the former Bowen Methodist Church. He played the guitar and sang in several churches. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eunice Marie Osburn Parsons; a son, Stephen "Steve" Parsons of Huntington; a daughter-in-law, Debra Parsons of Culloden, WV; four grandchildren, Hunter James Parsons and Katie Moroford, both of Culloden, WV, Chris Gifford of Huntington, and Stephanie Beaver of Teays Valley, WV; and three brothers, Edward (Joyce) Parsons of Milton, WV, General (Phyllis) Parsons of Ashton, WV, and Samuel Parsons of Lavalette, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, April 30, 2018, at Bowen Cemetery, with Pastor Josh Huffman officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 pm Monday at the cemetery.
