Obituary

Linda Kay Asbury
July 10, 1946 - January 13, 2014)

Linda Kay Asbury, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister of Huntington, WV, went home to the Lord on January 13. Born July 10, 1946, she is survived by her husband, Larry E. Asbury and one sister, Janet Keating, both of Huntington, WV. Linda and Larry’s love-filled 50-year marriage resulted in 3 wonderful sons; Brent Alan Asbury, Brian Scott Asbury and Blair Thomas Asbury and his wife, Jennifer Ann Asbury, all of Huntington. Also surviving are 3 very special grandchildren—Zachary Thomas Asbury, Cameron Michael Asbury, and Kaylen Grace Asbury—as well as one special niece, Julia Fletcher, and two special nephews, Tony Asbury and Ivan Asbury along with other numerous family members. She graduated from Vinson High School in 1964. Linda was a member of the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church. She worked for many years at the Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter. Linda found joy in gardening, reading, spending time near the ocean or a lake and was a friend to animals. Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church on James River Road in Huntington. The funeral service, conducted by Pastor Jody Fortner and Pastor Ivan Asbury, will follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Avenue Huntington, WV, 25701.
