Ella Florine "Granny" Hudson
(December 7, 1919 - January 14, 2014)



Ella Florine “Granny” Hudson, 94, of Crown City, OH, formerly of Huntington, passed away Tuesday January 14, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born December 7, 1919 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Robert Leroy and Flora Letha King Chapman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Harmon “Buck” Hudson, August 1991, brother, Bill Chapman and a sister Marie Harshbarger and a special grandson, Darrell Allan Cremeans. She is survived by three sons, Roger Allen Hudson & wife Pim of Seneca, SC, Donald Eugene “Duck” Hudson her loving son who passed away on January 15, 2014 in Lexington, NC, Dale Leroy Hudson & wife Debbie also of Lexington, NC, two daughter, Martha Gayle Vernatt & husband Tom of Belleville, MI, Judith Kaye Cremeans & husband Darrell of Crown City, OH with whom she made her home. 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jack Chapman of Huntington & Clarence Leroy Chapman & wife Dora of Proctorville, OH. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Huntington and for the last 5 years has attended Crown City Wesleyan Church. Visitation will be at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday January 18, 2014, with funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Rev. George Holley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave. Huntington, WV 25701.
