Paul O. Coster
(August 14, 1921 - January 7, 2014)



Paul O. Coster, 92, of Huntington, widower of Betty Dell Steele Coster, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 7, 2014 from Chateau Grove Senior Living. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Friday January 10, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary with Dr. Allen Reasons and Rev. Hubert Harvey officiating. Entombment with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 93, Kenova, will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born August 14, 1921, in Raleigh County, WV, a son of the late Charles A. and Anna Hurt Coster. In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by a sister and five brothers. Paul sold insurance and had worked for Inland Mutual Insurance Company and Bloss and Dillard Brokerage. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society, Crescent Lodge 32 AF&AM, St. Mary’s Auxiliary, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry Vititoe of Wilmington, NC; three sons and a daughter-in-law, David Coster of Huntington, Richard Coster of Melbourne, FL, and Craig and Lori Coster of Barboursville; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Sean and Missy Vititoe, Staci and Jason Colonna, Chris and Kris Coster, Heather and Troy Marquez, Nicholas and Nicole Coster, Hannah Coster and Rebekah Coster; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Donations are requested to be made to Hospice of Huntington or Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Paul’s name. Friends may visit with the family after 10:30 am until service time on Friday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
