Obituary



Gay Brunton, 82, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Wyngate at Rivers Edge, Proctorville. She was born October 2, 1934 in Charleston, WV a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Beulah Pauline "Boots" Cash Gruber. A daughter, Gerry Kay Brunton; a grandson, Tyler Twichell; and two brothers, Jerry Jay Gruber and Kerry Kay Gruber, also preceded her in death. Gay and her husband were the former owners and operators of MR Supply, Huntington. She was a lifetime member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church and was an Honorary Life Member of Presbyterian Women. "Mom was the BEST cake maker ever!" Survivors include: her husband of 49 years, Richard Brunton, Sr.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Terry (Eric) Twichell of Glenwood, NY, Sherry (John) Kyle of Barboursville, WV, Cheryl (Scott) Shuff of Huntington, Trish (Tom) Trent of Crown City, OH, and Donna (Chris) Surber of South Point, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Amy) Brunton II of Huntington; her twin sister, Fay Hendrickson of West Palm Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren, Nathaniel Kyle, Lindsey Singer, Eli Shuff, Christopher Bowen, Alicia Vandell, Nigel Trent, Nikki Goldsby, Clara Shively, Andrew Surber, Rickie Brunton and Josh Brunton; and eight great grandchildren, Trey Singer, Tyson Singer, Will Vandell, Kendrick Ryan, Sean Goldsby, John David Goldsby, Arianna Brunton, and Ella Grace Brunton. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, February 13, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. Rick Wilson and Dr. R. Jackson Haga officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Highlawn Presbyterian Church, 2814 Collis Avenue, Huntington, WV 25702.
