Byron Vinson Conrad, 78, of Lesage, WV, died on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Byron was born March 8, 1938 in Huntington the son of the late Vinson and Anyse Cooper Conrad. He was the owner and operator of Lesage IGA. He was a member of Cox Landing United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Lesage Lion's Club. He was an avid golfer and long-time member of Riviera Country Club. Byron loved his Lord, his family and friends. He was once asked what he wanted his epitaph to be. He said, "He Loved mankind." He was preceded in death by; his son, Byron Kraig Conrad; his brother, Wylie Conrad; nephew, Kelly Conrad and sister-in-law, Adeline Hensley. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Myrna; two daughters, Kama Garrity of Huntington and Kesha Holley of Lesage; two grandchildren, Chaston and Kierra Holley of Lesage; brother, Dwight Conrad (Sharolyn) of Milton; sister-in-law, Linda Conrad of Milton; sister-in-law, Sheila Mitchell (John) of Lesage; nephews, Devin and David Conrad of Milton and Erik Conrad (Tara) of Apple Grove and nieces, Tara Whitt (Alan) of Barboursville, Trena Aviv (Hen) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ronna Hensley of Lesage. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Cox Landing United Methodist Church, Lesage WV, by Pastors Rick Brown, Carl Mouser and Charles Mays. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 pm Saturday at the Church. Remembrances in honor of Byron may be sent to Cox Landing United Methodist Church, 5983 Hagley Drive, Lesage, WV 25537.
