Obituary



Gary Allen Myers, 70, of Salt Rock, WV, husband of Rita G. Sperry Myers, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 3, 1946 in Huntington a son of the late Wilber and Edna Mae Lucas Myers. Gary had two sisters, Frances Ray and Mary Wade; and two brothers, Eugene Myers and Donald Myers precede him in death. He was a graduate of Barboursville High School, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and was a retired grinder operator after 42 years from Special Metals. In addition to his wife survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Myers of Salt Rock, and Gregory "Greg" and Angie Myers of Lesage; three grandsons, Will Myers, Jesse Myers, and Brennan Myers; a sister, Joyce Clark of Malden, SC; and a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Betty Myers of Huntington. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Victory Baptist Church of Kenova or the Huntington City Mission. Funeral services will be conducted 5:00 pm Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary with Dan Preece officiating. Friends may visit after 4:00 pm at Chapman's Mortuary.
