Esta Irene Gilliam, 92, of Huntington, WV left her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, February 25, 2017. Esta was born September 20, 1924 in Branchland, WV and was a lifelong member of Huntington United Baptist Church. She was a 1942 graduate of Huntington East High School. She is the daughter of the late Eliza Ramey Dillon and Jesse Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Marie Powers and Mae Tackett, two brothers, Lloyd Dillon and Rass Dillon, one son, Raymond Keith Gilliam, and son-in-law, John Walter Protzman. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Claude Gilliam, her daughter, Claudia Sue Gilliam Protzman, three grand-children, Michelle Protzman, Amy Chisholm (her husband CR Chisholm), John Matthew Protzman (his wife, Crystal Protzman), and four great-grandchildren, Bailey Protzman, Tucker Protzman, Thomas Chisholm, and George Chisholm. Special thanks to Tina, Tangie, and Jennifer for their loving care. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday February 28, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor David Lemming officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park.
