Martin L. VanMatre, 66, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, in St. Mary's Medical Center, due to multiple health complications. He was born June 7, 1950 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late John A. VanMatre, Jr. and Margaret Suiter VanMatre. He was retired from Rescare. Survivors include his wife, Linda VanMatre; a daughter, Karen and son-in-law, Ryan Dolk; a brother, John A. VanMatre III; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins that were dear to him. A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Steven Hamrick officiating. In lieu of flowers, cards and well wishes would be appreciated.
